A Lasting Power of Attorney

On the 1st October 2007 the remainder of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 came into force. This completely changed the way in which we appoint people to act on our behalf. Firstly, you have a choice of documents, either a Personal and Financial LPA or a Welfare LPA, and secondly, it has to be registered at the Office of the Public Guardian before it can be used.
